It is a social networking site, not a dating site. Some people seem unaware of that fact, but overall, I like how the website is set up.

I've been on there a while, but I seldom use it, especially after I left all the groups I was a part of that ended up giving me more headache than they were worth, to me.

I know what you're saying. I'd have probably stopped using the site if I didn't have so many local "IRL" friends who use the site as well.

Well, depending on whether or not you were or are especially active in certain GBLT-related FL Groups, I can guarantee you that FL has some of the most migrane-inducing GBLT space on the tubes -- and not cos of trolls, either. FL's admin staff are actually pretty good about booting trolls. The further on "my side" a lot of FL's GBLT community are to where I stand on certain issues, the more irritating I often found their discourse. I found there were disproportionately fewer people willing to agree to disagree than on other spaces, as with a far larger proportion of people very "all or nothing" in the "if you're not for us, you're against us" sense; people very much thinking if you don't hate X-ism as much as they hate X-ism (and in the exact same ways they hate it), then you're clearly irredeemably X-ist. Apologies to anybody who actually enjoys some of the FL groups I'm thinking of, but I'm not on a kink site to be told I'm a bigot every time I point out, when it is relevant to do so, that different people, even in a particular sub-group, will have different experiences and opinions, and so I'm not going to take any one gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans woman, trans man, intersex person, or so forth, as an authoritative voice, not even if I agree --especially when at least one of those categories applies to myself, as well.

Sorry if this comes off as a little too-"...and so I took my blocks and went home, and they're all fascist meanie poo-poo heads!" -- I just needed to vent in the direction of some-one who seems to know what I mean, and a few of my friends still on FL still really like those groups, so it's awkward to say it to them.

I'd probably never sign up for the site. I love BDSM and fetish shit, but yeah, not sure about joining a website strictly for that. It may be like a fetish facebook, but I don't know...

It has peaked my interest though.

I guess you've got a point. I took a few glances at those groups, but never joined any of them. I only use the site to keep up with the local community where I live and to stay in touch with friends I know.
