 The Bell Tower begins
This is the official start of my new project The Bell Tower. At first its only a forum that you will find here: http://thebelltower.forumup.beBut later there will be an entire site, the building of it has already commenced. Feel free to join it. It should take care of all your Batcave, Deathrock, Gothic Rock,... (the real Goth stuff) needs. Even more so once we have the site and the place really starts filling up.

 Re: The Bell Tower begins
Alright i am registered but i must say i am feeling rather polygamorous right now, as Goth.net is the only forum i visit (or have ever visited). Feel special. Feel very, very special.

 Re: The Bell Tower begins
Moving to User Submissions (it'd just get lost in The Net).
EDIT: Though I'm going to add here, that you are being permitted the courtesy of advertising your own forum here, while at the same time, GN is being trashed there? That's not cool. And I only think it's fair that anyone seeing your post here is made aware of it, so they can make a more informed opinion of the type of community it is.

Just went and took a peek myself. Didn't register, and don't think I will. Not much for the attitudes.

About the attitude thing... We had some troll problems, they've been solved for the most part now.

I'll have to keep lurking for a while, and if things look better, maybe I will consider joining. I'm just not really hip on anyone tearing into someone because of a particular band they say they like or something. I'm sure many would very much disagree with me...me being very old school. It is one thing to have a disagreement, and a civil discussion. It is quite another to slam someone for having a different view than you do, as it appeared happened to some of my friends here based on what I read.

 Re: The Bell Tower begins
I do think you've misinterpreted something. The only nastiness on there has been instigated by trolls who have now been banned. And it wasn't even directly music related. They for were just trolling for fun.

I'm with you, GB the kind of elitest attitudes on display over there are not my cup of tea, not at all. I get enough of that kind of crap at some of the religion boards I'm on, don't need it on the goth ones, too I love the band HIM, I know they are not considered goth in any way, but I still love them and always will... I don't need people that disagree telling me I'm wrong to like them and I'm never to mention them. Also the stuff about here and the comments about Cyber Goths... uncalled for, imo. There are many kinds of Goths, to insult one branch insults us all. We should all be sticking together, not attacking our own! I don't care if one is Cyber, SteamPunk, Romantic... whatever, you're still a Goth (just my opinion, feel free to disagree )

I've just been having exactly the same battle over on VF. Will gladly discuss in PM if anyone's interested. However, although I have the greatest respect for Malkavian, I must admit I find none of what anyone's saying here desperately surprising.

 Re: The Bell Tower begins
I have to admit to not going near VF... I looked at the site (after it was mentioned many times here), but I was put off of joining by the sheer number of teenagers... I have nothing against teens, as such, but I find I have great difficulty in talking to them on certain subjects (I have a nineteen year old sister and she can drive me bonkers ). Better for my sanity if I stay away.

 Re: The Bell Tower begins
Sadly, I find I have great difficulty talking to them at all. For representatives of a culture which has a great literary heritage, and in its modern incarnation provides some of the most original thinkers and articulate spokespeople you'll find anywhere, I find few on VF who even remotely fit the bill.
