I love Tim Burton so much, but my favorites have to be the Nightmare Before Chirstmas and Sleepy Hallow. I have to say that Sleepy Hallow is one of the few movies that still gives me the creeps when I watch it.

Beetlejuice...lotz of sentimental value,
when i was little i had all the action figures, the mask with snakes that pop out of the head, costume, everything...i even used to go to my nieghbors houses all the time and go "NICE FUCKIN' MODEL!! *honk honk*"......yeah....i was a real bad ass little kid....maybe 4 or 5 years old? heh

I voted for NBC because I had to pick just one. I loved them all, thought, except for Planet of the Apes--which blew. Pee Wee should have been on the list; everytime I watch that movie, I feel like a six year old again (in a good way). I also have to say that Big Fish was absolutely wonderful (it's the first movie in years that's made me cry), and it was filmed not too far from where I grew up.

I am very dissappointed on how Nightmare Before Christmas became such a marketing whore recently

You mean like how in all the comic book shops like Forbidden Planet there's NBC merchandise everywhere? It's like the marketers realised it was so popular among goths and decided to target us or soomething, that would explain all the Emily Strange, Scary Miss Mary, Ruby Gloom etc stuff out.

yeah. exactly. then you got these new-age kids who were maybe like two or three when it came out saying they've always liked it, when they weren't even old enough to know what it is, just so they don't look like those kids who don't know what all this new fuss is about. I could see if they released a couple new things for the aniversery, but instead they had to release every little thing they could think of to make money of a neo-classical movie, that was popular way back in the day. Then they have all their stuff at Hot Topic. you know your industry's gotten a little to popular when the main source of your merchendise is sold at hot topic locations. Wear what you want, you know. But the thing that really pisses me off is they have everything for NBC, and it's everywhere, and it all just poped out of nowhere.

I am definitely torn between Edward Scissorhands and NBC... but I have been fond of NBC a lot longer, and I watch it more, so I that is what I voted for. (hey that rhymes! :P)

Umm, actually, if they were only two or three when it came out then they would have liked it more or less all their lives. There's nothing wrong with the movie being popular or with selling stuff. I just hope that the people who buy the stuff take the time to watch and enjoy the movie.

Unlike those who carry Bagpuss bags and pencil cases everywhere yet never watched the show. There were tons of them at my 6th-form college.

I chose Batman Returns, for a few reasons. I loved the costumes, especially Catwoman's. The sets were incredibly well done and breathtaking, as well as the cinematography (*hopes that's the correct spelling*) that went along with it.

Oh, and I suppose I am a little biased since there is a Siouxsie song in it, :p .

Please don't make me choose!!!! I think I love all of them except for Planet of the Apes and Batman returns, but especially Edward Scissorhands (Johnny Depp in skin tight vinyl, drool!) and The Nightmare Before Christmas, mostly because that was the movie that probably first got the little black goth ball rolling in my life (I saw it in the theaters when I was about 11 and it just stuck with me!)

I still remember seeing it in the theatre, it was during one of the roughest times of my life too.

I have to agree with you, Clove, I think I really became so attached to NBC because it was right after my parents divorce. But I think that alot of people find themselves so attached to Burton's work because it does have an awful lot of heart, and for those of us who get lost by the wayside when it comes to the mainstream entertainment industry, it's nice to know that there are movies out there that represent us too.
