ok , here is the thing.

i love johnny depp, and tim burton for there great work in the past. but

why ,, why redo a classic like willy wonka?
all they are going to do is destroy the movie .

and for people to say johnny depp is the perfect willy wonka , forgot about the origianl willy.

i know this is spose to be based off the book. but please,, for the mercy of all things unholy. pls leave this one alone.

thats what i was thinking when i first heard about them makeing the movie, and now that its been in theaters , and on dvd.

im not going to watch it.

they hurt me big time with this one.

For the mercy of all that's holy and unholy, please proof read your posts. They don't have to be doctorate-level dissertations on the necessity of grammar in our modern society, but real words would be nice.

If you don't want to see the movie, don't. No one is forcing you to, but you'll notice everyone in this thread did see the movie. And as for your reverence for the "original" movie, I don't understand it. Sure, I enjoyed the Gene Wilder version as a kid (until I read the book, that is), but of the two films, the "original" is far more pandering and saccharin, and a pretty awful adaptation of an awesome book.

But, that's just my opinion, and I am as entitled to it as you are to your feeling of betrayal over the remake of the 1970s "classic."

Did you see that thing LadyA mentioned to our darkness-obsessed ass-hat regarding proofreading posts and making them intelligible? That applies to you too.
