 Re: Last film you watched
Not a single bit gothy at all, but the last movie I watched was "Diamonds are Forever", the seventh in the James Bond series. It was a good movie, and as always had it's fair share of witty one-liners and tense action scenes.

Kill Bill 2.
One of my favorite movies, and it always seems to make me feel better if I'm having a bad day.

 Re: Last film you watched
Almost finished (I have one hour left!) of The History Channel's Hatfields & McCoys three-part / six-hours biopic.
When you read up on the history of that feud, it's actually kind of boring, and really, they did a good job of making neither side sympathetic. Of course, I find hillbillies fascinating in a scary sort of way, and refuse to live any further South than Columbus, Ohio / Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at least this side of the Mississippi. I might make an exception of New Orleans (technically this side of the Mississippi), if only cos it's significantly more French than anywhere else south of 39N Latitude and tends to have a significantly different calibre of Crazy Rural People than Appalachia and the rural South.
When you consider how famous the Hatfied-McCoy feud was in its day, you really can't see shit like The Jerry Springer Show as a low point in human entertainment. These crazy hillbillies sold papers in a manner similar to crazy trailer trash grabbing daytime telly ratings.

Just watched "The Crow" for the first time. I don't know what to say, it was amazing, even better than I expected. It was a great movie, and I think my new favorite. It had awesome action scenes, a great plot, really good sets and costumes, and all the charecters were wonderfully cast. I might watch it again tomorrow for the hell of it.

Ninja: Isn't it great? I love that movie, especially around Halloween.
Fairy: I loved that series! I just finished it on Saturday, and I thought it was great and interesting. I would post more about it, but I don't want to give anything away for those who haven't seen it yet. If you love history, action, hillbillies or none of those, you'll love that series.

It was interesting, but I don't really understand why it had to be a near-complete six hours (there were fewer advert breaks and they were shorter than usual). For the most part, it's fairly factually accurate (the origin of the feud is generally believed to be the murder of Union soldier Asa Harmon McCoy at the hands of the Confederate Homeguard station, the Logan Wildcats --which Jim Vance was likely a part of-- but the first part of the mini-series kind of squished down the scenes from that (I can barely remember it), and quickly built up all the more-piddly crap that just built it up from there. The miniseries also sort of glossed over the fact that the Hatfields were considerably wealthier and better connected, socially, than the McCoy family (Hatfields were some high-class hillbillies!) --I can't think of any scene that really illustrated that very well, and the details of the second confirmed murder in the feud (the infamous one that was ultimately over a pig --not technically spoiling anything, as most people have heard of that) and the outcome of said was truncated. I guess if they were going to go into that much detail, they probably could have, but it's hard enough to get film studios to greenlight any film more than two hours long, much less this relatively big-budget made-to-cable-telly six hour mini-series. Can't expect people to sit through another two hours of details. Hillbilly drama: It's serious business. If you missed it and want to watch it, it looks like it's on-line for a while: http://www.history.com/shows/hatfields-and-mccoys...and it'll probably rerun again. And probably get a DVD release in the next year.

I also watched H&M, and it was very well done, but it was disturbing to me because those people reminded me of some of my customers.

For that time period and that part of the country, that was a very high-earning job. Also, in the series, the judge was a Hatfield, and from what I recall about the mid-to-late 1800's, judges were paid fairly well. Plus, the McCoys were farmers, and I believe the lawyer was the only one who was well-off. But I guess they could have done a little more to display the wealth difference. But, for me at least, the clothing of the women help me determine whether someone is supposed to be rich or not. Especially in that time period. Aside from "Devil Anse"s wife, there were no Hatfield women shown, whereas the McCoy women were shown in detail. But, then again, both families owned a lot of land, and their families were freakin' HUGE so I just assumed that they were supposed to be a little wealthier than the average hillbilly. LegendGirl: Wait, how did they remind you of your customers?

That was my same reaction when I first watched The Crow. I watched it 3 or 4 times in 3 days before we sent it back to Netflix. I'm almost through the first season of Game of Thrones. I've got 3 or 4 episodes left. I love this show! I feel horrible for the dwarf though. He shouldn't get blamed for the rest of his family's wrongdoings.

I have the soundtrack, the collector's edition of the film, and the graphic novel.
