Post American Gods - Neil Gaiman
I've already read this book, as I have the trade paperback, but for one month only, Harper Collins is letting people read it online for free:
American Gods

Wow.  I recommend that you all read it.
If you haven't, you are missing out.  Seriously.
I can't praise it enough.

That's pretty awesome.  It's a great book...anybody who hasn't read it should take advantage of this.

Funny. I am currently reading this book for the first time and just started a week ago or so. I have to admit until now it did not really manage to excite me as much as I was excited about Gaimans "Neverwhere" from the first pages. Might be due to the fact I have just finished another gods-related story and wasn´t too enthusiastic about it... (Anatole Frances "Revolt of the Angels")

Thanks for sharing the link, Luna!

Gaiman also scanned some of the pages from his notes while writing this story, which he posted up here.  I stared at them for a long time, but only made out a word or two here and there.  :D

The quality of the scan isn´t the best though...
I had no major troubles reading it when zoomed in though I usually couldn´t decipher the words that would have made the context clear  :D
A bit off-topic: Is it adviseable to continue with "Anansi Boys" after "American Gods"? It says its the sequel..

I'm not sure I'd consider it a sequel really. Mostly it just focuses on Anansi and his kids and doesn't really tie in with American Gods. I found it to be a good read though and wasn't disappointed.

I loved Anansi Boys too. I never thought of it as a sequel. It has a lot in common and I guess some of the characters carry over, but I am sure it works on its own as well. It is certainly not a continuation of the story of Shadow or Wednesday. Though now that I think about it, it has a lot of the same themes, just on a much more personal level. I want to go have a beer with Fat Charlie...

I thought Anansi Boys was amazing; and I preferred it to American Gods. Thanks for the links, especially the notes - on the first page I'm pretty sure he's written 'Blur - Magic America' and the first verse of William Henry's 'Echoes'.
'Magic America' seems a bit obvious, but I have no idea where 'Ecoes' coiuld have fitted in with the plot.

American Gods was one of the best books I've ever read. I absolutely loved it.

Oh, one of my favorite books! I found it in a book-store last summer, snd when I started to read it, I couldn't put it away!
It sort of reminds me of the RPG Scion, which is great!
I love Gaiman, he is brilliant! I just started collecting the Sandman books :D
