Since Cinema Strange has already been mentioned, I'd like to add the Brides and the Deep Eynde.

I second this. Even though I made a few recommendations, I'm always on the lookout for others. I appreciate everyone's replies especially the person who suggested three record labels, that makes it easier to find a variety of interesting new artists. :?

hey, you should check out Kill Memory Crash. They've got a new album coming out next week, and they're definitely one of my favorite new bands

Willing to bet you just used the number one candidate to post that.

The internet, not your hand. :p

Personally, I'd scan the larger organizations first- ebay, amazon, chapters.indigo... and then move on to more specific sources. Label outlets, possibly even band storefronts, if they have them. With the investment of a little time, you can probably find very nearly anything.

That was probably unneccesary, no?

Albums by Beseech can be bought at Amazon.de or at Nuclearblast.de.

The music of anis Lupus can be ordered at their homepage if I am not mistaken!

Resurrection Records has tons of cds on it you can order. Nearly all the bands I recommended are on there.

I'd like to recommend a few more if it's not overwhelming you.

Abney Park -They're good -really good.

Devilish Presley - UK deathrock band

Voices of Masada - sounds like darkwave with heavily distorted guitars

Switchblade Symphony are sort of new, but they're on hiatus at the moment. Haven't heard anything about Tina's project in ages though, it didn't interest me that much anyway, it just sounds like something she wanted to get out of her system rather than a serious musical concentration.

I seem to be one of the only ones that likes them around here though, I don't get why that is, I think they're amazing.

Sorry I didn`t add the links before, but these are some links to my favorite newer (meaning 1990 and later) bands, complete with samples.

They`re pretty popular, so most of you should know these classics:

Sopor Aeternus - my favorite band of all time!!! Nothing else comes close to touching the darkness and emotion ever present in Anna Varney`s beautiful compositions!!

Das Ich A true classic and pioneers of the German darkwave scene. I`ll be seeing them in July!!! They put on one hell of a stageshow!!

Oneiroid Psychosis My favorite American band at the moment.... Haunting horror-themed gothic/darkwave/industrial, going more for the twisted and frightening approach, but still with some moments of ambient serenity.

Faith & the Muse my second favorite american band, with Monica Richards of Strange Boutique and Bill Faith of Mephisto Walz. equal parts ethereal and gothic rock, with their later stuff being more rock, and their older stuff more neoclassical/old world style.

Devil Doll Well, ok, they aren`t new, but represent the newer wave of dark music to come out of Europe. I still don`t know what label to categorize them in, save for "artistic genius"

Love Like Blood One of Germany`s newer wave of gothic bands, introducing more of a hard-edged style.

Diary of Dreams Highly depressive, powerful, and epic elecrogoth, with one of the most emotive deep-voiced singers ever to grace a stage. Each album is like a journey through your own emotions.

Well, that`s it for now until I think of some more.....
