How about Rammstein - Rein Rous? (not sure about the spelling in German correct me if I'm wrong). It even has some heavy breathing effects while he is singing "In, Out, In, Out."
I'd also have to go with Enigma. For some reason I always think that Tool's Lateralus cd would be a pretty good thing to, even though it has nothing to do with sex at all (as far as I know). Having nothing to do with sex and the layers of sound in the songs seem to make it perfect. . .why I think so I have no idea.

Falko - also a virgin

I agree with all the enigma stuff...

I personally have never gotten to have sex with music around...I'd like to try though :P

I can't think of any other songs that havent been mentioned...but my brain is kinda fried right now...when you are bored all day at work, it sometimes just fries your brain from sheer BOREDOM...

Considering I've been in a bit of a dry spell, my recommendations may be a little off.

One song that always gets me in the mood is "You're Makin' Me High" by Toni Braxton. And speaking of Prince, "Purple Rain" does it for me too.

As far as just general artists:
Portishead
Delerium
Sarah McLachlan
ATB (for some unknown reason)
Cocteau Twins
Loreena McKennit

Strangely enough, looking over this list, most of these are female vocalists. There might be something to that. I'll have to think about that further... :p

Well, I lost my virginity to "The Head On The Door," by the Cure, so that album has always had a sexual connotation for me.

I think it would depend on the mood of the situation. If it was all intense and romantic and such, I would say either "Lorelei" or "Seekers Who Are Lovers" by Cocteau Twins. If it was some sort of leather-and-bondage type affair, maybe "Fool" or "A Screw" by Swans. Or "Numb" by Portishead.

Or anything by Tindersticks. It's all about atmosphere.

For the kinky stuff, nothing beats Bauhaus or some good old fashioned deathrock turned down a bit as background sensory music when someone's blindfolded. That way you still get the sensory heightening angle, but also they cant hear you coming towards them with various... impliments.

For happy sex, nothing beats a nice healthy mix of 80s synthpop one hit wonder love songs to smile at eachother with as you delightfully screw eachother's brains out. Or put on The Cure's Pornography. That's a good one. Not for the title, but the songs on it.

For making passionate romantic love, Dead Can Dance is my cup of tea.

Excellent point, Blood Rose. "Stigmata Martyr" was made for the dungeon.

Perhaps i'm reflecting a rather individual sexual outlook here but I find these particularly erotic.

Frank Martin, "Mass for double choir".
The 42 male voices, trebles, altos, countertenors, tenors and basses blend with voices piling up in interweaving melodies expressing wonder in swaying cushions of harmony punctuated with intonations of ever increasing urgency.
This is sensuous, erotic music. Perhaps a musical equivalent of Gian Lorenzo Bernini's "The Ecstasy of St. Teresa."

Marvin Gaye, "I Want You".
Marvin's voice is overlaid at times so we have up to 5 Marvin's imploring.

Garbage, "Vow".
Perhaps the result of seeing a very expert stripper work with this song. It could just as well be any of the other tracks on the first Garbage album.

I really wouldn't like it to just be screwing, I prefer for me and the other person to be in love and make love. Quite a difference. Much more meaningful. I do not want to waste my body on a bunch of losers, I plan to save it for the right one.

*cracks up laughing* Oh goodness. I could not handle that song in such a situation as for me it calls up images of cruddy restaurants... Some friends and I used to habitually dine at this place after work and they had a jukebox. We made a habit of pooling all our change together so we could put that song and Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' on the speakers several times in a row.

For me, hrm, let's see...

- Sweetest Perfection, Halo, and In Your Room by Depeche Mode (hell, there's a LOT of DM that would work)
- Goodbye Horses by Q Lazarus
- Electric Cucumber by Zilch
- Under the Gun, Body Electric and Ribbons by SoM
- Deception, Here Comes the Rain Again, and Ave Maria by the Cruxshadows
- Zwitter by Ramstein (heh.)
- Golden Years by David Bowie
- My Truth by Anna Loos

Those are a few I can think off the top of my head, anyway. Ooh, or there's a "swingin' bachelor pad" CD my sister owns that I could borrow. ^^

One more song: "No Exucuses" by Alice in Chains. Also, I'd like to congratulate CoffinKid and everyone else on making this the FIRST of my threads to reach a SECOND PAGE! Keep up the good work!

I certainly don't want to tell you what to do ... just ringing in that *I* can fuck someone, not feel in love with them ... and still have a fun and meaningful experience.

And I certainly would never want to fuck some loser either ... but that still doesn't mean I have to feel in love.

I can have fun with "screwing", "making love" and all sorts of sex in general. Mmm hmm, uh huh.

Well, I don't think anyone here is outright saying, "Go out and screw the first person you meet."

Yes, but after you find that perfect one and make all the meaningful love you want, there is absolutely nothing wrong with getting down and dirty and simply 'screwing' each other once in awhile. No matter how dirty the sex may be, if two people truly and deeply love each other, the 'dirty' sex is still meaningful.

Two souls in love need to experiment with each other, you know.

What about Ravel's Bolero. Isn't that supposed to be the stereotype? Along with Carmina Burana, but I think I saw that one mentioned earlier.

I must admit, this isn't a topic that I've ever really thought about. Maybe I should do that. If I'm ever in that situation again and requiring the "right" music.
