Had they been inhaling anything they might not want the cops to see?

Non-goth bands, hmm. A shortlist of my favourites:
Tool, A Perfect Circle, Pink Floyd, Dream Theater, Led Zeppelin, Primus, Deep Purple, Rolling Stones, Probot, Billy Idol, The Doors, some Pearl Jam, some Kyuss, Iced Earth. I'll list Nine Inch Nails here, too. As much as it seems industrial, NIN's pretty mainstream.
That isn't including industrial and bands I've listed in my intro post, which seem to be pretty much gothic standard issue.

Nope...I don't see any goth there. (Not that I'm an expert.)
However, if you want to learn what is goth music, keep reading around this forum. You'll find plenty of information.

I don't see any goth in there either, mostly nu-metal and a scattering of "other". I'm a little new around here to be preaching... but common sense says to check out The Top 15 essential goth albums (clicky clicky). It certainly helped me out.

I did.......and after i checked it and other treads around here I got to a conclusion that it's kinda pointles for me to be goth cause I just cant understand what's good about bauhaus or the sisters or any of the listed there...it's just not my kind of music.....and as Blood Rose said in "What's goth and what's not":"If you dont like the music a music based subculture is based on you have no reason to be a part of it":\ or something like that.....I dont wanna be one of the wannabes that think that they're goth if they listen to Manson that is "as goth as my mother's fluffy slippers":) as someone else said once..... so i guess i'll just have to say goodbye to being goth.
P.S. I DONT LISTEN TO MANSON.....I think HE SUCKS...

Just me : Meh, thats fine. You don't have to like all goth music. Quite honestly, Bauhaus doesn't do too much for me, but there is alot that I like. You can listen to whatever you want, I mean my entire mp3 collection does not consist of Sisters of mercy, I have alot of other stuff too. I'm sure that goes for pretty much everybody. Don't try to fit the label, you can't force yourself to like something. Just be yourself and listen to what you like.

Keep in mind that the 15 Essential Goth Albums lists are simply opinions and that they aren't "15 Goth Albums You Must Love to Be A Goth."
Though most of the albums in the lists will be loved by the list's creator, the purpose of the list is simply to list 15 albums the list's creator feels anyone interested in goth music should familiarize themselves with in order to learn about the genre. In other words, you don't have to like all the bands.
Even if you find there's not a single goth/industrial artist you consistently like the music of, that's no reason to think you can't continue to participate in these forums. We have several participants who are not goth and never will be (and many of them will proudly admit as much). Just focus on being you and know that as long as you treat both the forums and the participants with respect, you will be accepted.

Non goth bands? Children of Bodom, Stone The Crow, Pixies, Enya, The Rasmus, a lot of metal. And classical bombasti music like the Van Helsing soundtracks... unless you count those as being the uber-darkest-gawffiest thing a living/dead ear will ever be caressed with, I think they fit in here quite well.

I know it's the writers personal oppinion but it at least gave me a clue about what bands are goth and BTW thanks about the welcome......anyways I downloades a couple od songs by:siouxsie and the banshees (OMFG that's a long name),the smiths, the cure,NIN,dead can dance,Inkubus Sukkubus ,and most of them I kinda liked (Unlike Bauhaus *trying really hard not to puke*) but I guess I'll still leave the being goth idea for some more time untill i get the idea a little bit better......
P.S:I'm really sorry if someone is insulted by my oppinion about BAUHAUS (It's just my oppinion).
And not to get away from the subject I'll add that i started listening to The 69 Eyes (I think it doesnt count as goth) and also to some Pink Floyd and The Scorpions
