Post Terracotta Warriors in NYC
We've had discussions on this board revolving around how we'd like our funerals to be arranged, or what sort of memorial tombstone or whatever we'd like for ourselves.

But get a load of this guy – China's first emperor. When he died, he had an entire retinue of thousands constructed to accompany him into the Afterlife.

I imagine everyone has heard of China's ancient Terracotta Warriors. For a limited time in NYC, some of the Terracotta Warriors (and other ancient Chinese funerary artifacts) will be on exhibit at Discovery Times Square.

The exhibit will continue through August 26th. I went today to check it out, and took some piccies. Here are a few for y'all:

Terracotta Warrior

Life-size Terracotta Horse

Ancient Chinese Dildoes

Exhibit Description of Dildoes

Heh, the picture of the ancient Chinese dildoes is workplace safe. After all, they are museum objets d'art. ;)

-- Nephele, who is intrigued with the ancient Chinese concept of ensuring that one's dildo accompanies one into the Afterlife.

Ah New York,

great, we just had an exhibition of Yoko Ono here. I think the old culture meets the spirit much more.

Ah, Yoko Ono. Unlike the Terracotta Warriors, an Asian relic that I would not pay money to see.

Haha, another great reason to love the ancient ways of life when sex was loved- not tabooed!

And also another reason why I have got to move somewhere near NYC one day.

Beautiful pictures, Nephele!
