FYI : In case anyone had seen the other posts where I have mentioned this festival, The Age of Decay Goth/Deathrock festival that was scheduled for April 21st in Jacksonville Florida was canceled a few weeks ago. Evidently the venue left the promoters, bands, and fans high and dry, claiming they had "double-booked". The promoters hope to reschedule for the Fall.

I wanted to go to the festival, but I hadn't the means to go right now. I hate that it was put on hold, but at the same time if it comes back in the fall- I'd be more likely to be able to attend. I think it's awesome that this (if it happens) is going to be in my own city.

I suspected that something like this would happen when I looked at the venue. I am not sure I buy that it was an inadvertent case of overbooking, but that is just my own personal feeling, not that of the promoters. Sadly, the cancellation took place after many people had reserved hotel rooms and purchased tickets. The event that bumped the festival is a spoken word, screamo band, which I seriously do not think will bring the venue the kind of business that The Age of decay would have. Go figure.

As a financial supporter of the festival, I am certainly hoping that it does come off in the fall. I have an interview with Lestat, one of the bands who was to attend, in my ezine.

The Age of Decay has been rescheduled for Sep 22, 2012.

Midieval Fantasy, I hope they can bring it off this year..... The band End the Vicious Cycle has cancelled, but maybe the promoters can replace them with another band. I am not going to purchase tickets until it gets very close to the date.

If I go, I'm mostly looking forward to listening to Lestat. I am not planning on purchasing tickets until right before- if I go at all. I am planning on it, but I'll now better when it gets closer.
