I find I enjoy their music even more if I understand the spiritual lore behind it. "Sumerland", for example, is a place where one meets with souls who have passed.

I recomend Whispers in the Shadow,Decendants of Cain and The Opposite Sex

Whispers in the Shadow are great, but I've only heard one Descendants of Cain track. As for The Opposite Sex, I think they're more post-punk than anything... not even good post-punk. |

Ville's voice (and chest) are the only things the band has going for them.

Yeah, I'd go with "The Nephilim". I recently heard the 2-disc "Fallen" though, and it has really impressed me.

And there's a reason a lof of deathrockers would hate oonz-oonz music. A lot of them feel that it's completely deviated from what goth used to be. Personally I'm not fond of EBM or the industrial stuff they play in clubs these days so I prefer to just attend punk and psychobilly gigs. By the way, i...

How did a thread with "goth rock" clearly in the title turn into a thread about deathrock? Anyway... I recommend Brotherhood of Pagans, Stare, The Cold, Requiem in White and Witching Hour.

I don't think it was really "birthed" from punk/post-punk, but more of a "re-birth ito the modern age" so to speak, as I believe it's roots go as far back as the middle ages and even pre-christian times. The goth movement may have been influenced by medieval gothicism, bu...

I hate them. I think male vocals go so much better with gothic rock, personally. Siouxsie is the only exception.

I think the singer have a good voice and they can play their instrument but they are just too harsh for my taste I prefer bands like Dark Sanctuary,The Cruxshadows,The sisters of mercy and Rasputina, but I can´t deny the fact that they have talent. Too harsh? They're an old-school goth band! Are yo...

The plots aren't anything spectacular. Oftentimes it seems like Creepie is just a tacked-on character in an otherwise mediocre show, but there was one episode where she took photos in a cemetery and went on to explain the beauty of it to her classmates. That was a pleasant surprise.
