Forum: Gothic   Topic: Would you Sleep In a COFFIN!?!

I can only imagine a coffin as being very cramped and hot, which is not good when the local temperature and humidity like to push 100. Also, it does not seem to me to be very conducive to certain *cough* bedroom activities.

I didnt know the word "inappropriate" was permitted in the goth repertoire. Well, in the course of everyday events, if I, say, went to work dressed like Jonny Slut, I would, of course, be sent home. And, considering my level of tolerance for nasty remarks, I would probably avoid similar d...

My ideal scare is basically anything written by John Bellairs. Another recurring nightmare for me is not being able to run or escape when being confronted by dark figures, who I try to negotiate with to prevent them from harming me, holding me captive, or otherwise oppressing me.

Unless you can pull off an effeminate look and/or are slim enough for drainpipes, I would say no, but that's my opinion.

As far as fashion goes, I think all of today's "goth" clothes and boots are terrible and/or inappropriate to wear anywhere but to a goth club, so I dress normally 99% of the time, with an occasional band t-shirt. Does that make me "casual goth"? I don't even think it classifies a...

Considering I'm a slightly husky, masculine guy with a fairly thick beard, I'll have to say no, in so far as I would never wear it. However, do I think that the androgynous rocker and doll girl stuff is at least somewhat interesting? Yes. What I hate is the Japanese orange tan with white lipstick ga...

Nothing made me goth. I always was. When I was a very, very young... I kept to myself, rarely talked to other people, and was painfully anxious about most things. I didn't understand why only women were allowed to wear lipstick, or why someone would hate someone else because of their skin. My favori...

At a club, yes, but not if you live in MS and want to attract a partner and future spouse, or find a professional job. Them's the breaks, kids. There are clubs in MS? No. But if there were, in MS, that would be the best place to "dress the part," not in public if you're interested i...

I don't think the features you're asking for can be found in any Burton's movies.

I was talking more about Depp's earlier work than Burton's direction.

Having Burton and Depp do the re-make is an INCREDIBLY BAD IDEA. Sorry, but I thought it needed the emphasis. Depp hasn't done anything good since The Ninth Gate (1999), in my opinion. But Burton continues to think up kooky roles, and Depp continues to bend over for the money. Thus, the Burton-Depp ...

I study dead people's cultural remains. I'm an archaeologist. I just got a new, full-time, permanent job maintaining a historic site preserve, which makes me slightly happier than I have been at my part-time, temporary job with no benefits. -- Fri Jul 27, 2012 9:22 pm -- I make sammiches. The worst kind of negative people are the ones who have authority. They're particularly bad because you can't simply ignore their negative, you're basicly forced to put up with it. Especially ones who nit pick on everything you do. What those people don't seem to understand, is that when you destro...

I was never allowed to have a drow character. They were in the Monster Compendium and therefore not playable, according to my crew. :( My GM is similar. No dragons, vampires, or anything like that. One of his major concerns was having a party of good and evil aligned characters. Basically, he didn'...

The short answer is to only wear black & leather when the aircon is going full Arctic blast. Light, loose, layers - like a Bedouin, is what I do. Wearing tight stuff ain't good! I'm adapting from the UK weather into the hot wet bath they call climate around here in GA. ;) I'm pretty sure MS is ...

It's good to see more people posting. I like to think that there are at least ten MS goths out there for every one that posts on the site. If you're like me, we're hard to spot. I almost never dress the part. Why not? Isn't part of being goth "dressing the part"? At a club, yes, but...
