I've been using plain white vinegar in place of fabric softener for years (I buy the cheapest stuff). It works well and there is no vinegar smell after the clothes come out of the machine. Plus it won't junk up your pipes like fabric softener does :-)

I made a doll for my daughter. So far, she's face-less and hair-less, but she has toes and fingers! I put pipe cleaners in the fingers so they can be posed somewhat. I will put a pic on my facebook page when I finish her (just look for me as Red Corset - if you want to 'friend' me, just send me a me...

Not exactly for the house, but I had a lippie I loved the colour of but it was all dried out when I opened it and couldn't get a refund - one of those stay-put ones. It was expensive, so I sterilised a craft jar in boiling water for 5mins and then crushed the lippie into the jar with a clean plastic...

Love it! Don't know about sew-alongs. Personally, I have so little free time that I have to just sew what needs to be sewn. For instance, I desperately need a few new dresses & to make the corset I've put off for a year, but my daughter needs a new swimsuit in 2 days for swimming carnival. Guess...

Oh! Thank you for mentioning this information, I've been having a heck of a time getting fun colored lipsticks here lately. There are only two stores in town that have anything, but they frequently don't know their own products very well and as a result have "tricked" me more than once int...

A couple of years ago, I asked Evil Angel to custom a colour for me & it is now in the Deviant Lips range! I love it & I've just placed another order with her. The colour is called 'Corset' & you can find her on Google and Facebook :-) The Evil Angel provides exemplary customer service &...

I was pretty tired when I posed the question (when am I ever not tired these days?) I guess I am just lazy - it would be nice to have a 'View bookmarked pages' button up the top with 'View your posts'. If it's not possible, it's not possible. Still a great site, and I've made some really good friend...

Sorry if this has been answered previously, though I can't seem to find anything and I've been searching on an off for a while. I was going to try to PM Prez about this, but thought there might be others who are thinking the same way.... I've noticed that every time I have participated in a forum to...

I'm happy that I was accepted into university! I'm happy that I've legally pilfered 2 of my husband's t-shirts (I asked & he gave). They will be remodelled when I get time. I'm happy that my sewing machine just needed a service & not a new switch - saved $40! Most importantly, I'm happy that...

Ok, it's now cold here in Australia at night. I have not pulled the black flannel out of the cupboard since I washed it after purchase :'( But I have decided to make a full set. I do like button up tops & on occasion I can get black tshirts for $4 at Big W. No Walmart here. My cousin's prom dres...
