When I was younger than your sister I had a morbid fascination with all things bloody and gory. More in terms of history though, stuff like torture, war, disease, the lot really. Didn't find it funny though, just fascinating and interesting to learn about. I'd already decided at the age of 7 that de...

And really, I hope being 30+ and goth is okay, because I'm 21 now and luckily I have a lot of awesome friends who think I look cool or dress quite "goth" themselves, but I worry that after college, that will all change. What I've come to finally realize as I begin adulthood is that people often thi...

Human Nature/The Family of Blood:- A wonderful two-parter. I haven't read the original novel this is based on but would love to read it to see the story in more depth. Interestingly in the novel The Doctor chooses to become human so he can understand humans better rather than out of any necessity bu...

I always wanted a proton pack. Never got one. :( Great to see other tomboys on here. Like the others I was less than kind to the dolls my mum bought for me when I was very young (before giving up trying to make me girly haha). I usually fed them to my dinosaurs or threw them across the room. Spirogr...

By the way, when you were kids, have you imagined that one day you will like goth stuff ? (I myself am still fighting a battle in my mind to find some kind of unambiguous answer) mmm well when I was a child I'd never even heard of the word goth. I haven't really changed. I still like the same kind ...

I was obsessed with dinosaurs and owned loads including the Jurassic Park toys and Dino-Riders. I loved nothing more than setting up dinosaur battles with my friends setting up our own armies and fighting them. I also owned loads of action figures including Thundercats, He-Man, Real Ghostbusters, Ba...

I don't own any myself but I can't help admiring them when I see them in Forbidden Planet. Do you have any? I like the ones in the red kimonos best.

For those of you who are curious about these dolls and where to buy them:

Watching Steamboy again I have to say it's much better on a second viewing. It didn't seem too long this time. The animation of the machinery is impressive. So much to drool over. The big chase at the beginning was cool as were the steamtroopers and the steamcastle. It's a good setting too being 186...

42:- Quite a good episode. Wasn't outstanding but wasn't boring or rubbish either. I haven't seen any of the films or shows and whatever else this episode is similar to at all. It reminded me a lot of The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit in terms of style of the ship and everything. It's probable bot...

Well the Obvious one would be "Do Androids dream of Electric Sheep" Philip K. Dick Wasn't the film 'Bladerunner' based on this book? Yes it was. There are similarities between the two but loads of differences as well. I think they're both good in their own ways. In the book there's a lot of stuff a...

Wow. My wife and I stayed up late last night (till 3am) just sitting around talking and listening to classic goth. Someone's post asking if she likes 80's music got me to thinking. Maybe the Bauhaus are a bit TOO goth. So I played Sisters of Mercy and Siouxie along with some Red Lorry YL and Bauhau...

And if you miss the clubs, tell your wife you might like to go "for old times sake" and put on your jeans and Bahaus shirt with the old Oxblood Docs all of us over 30 inevitably have lying around and head out for the night. Tell her it's part of your past that you're just itching to peek in on and ...

Steamboy is good visually, but storywise it's a bit weak. It kind of goes all over towards the end and you're left wishing it would just finish quickly. The visual elements were great and the first half of the film is good. I also didn't like how there was no subtitles option on the dvd, you're forc...

I agree the gradual approach is best. Don't just burst out with I'm a goth like rebellious teenagers tend to do. Talking about it is pretty key because even when you gradually reveal parts of yourself that your friends haven't seen before they can turn their backs on you all of a sudden but I think ...
