I can't vouch for the truth of this, but apparently the ancient Greek army used to encourage same-sex partners to join the army.

It led to an increased sense of camaraderie because it gave soldiers more of a personal interest.

Just Like Heaven by the Cure, as said earlier, is probably one of my favourites. Love Me Dead by Ludo takes the cake, love in all its many hypocrisies. I also have to say "The Fragile" by NIN, once again not really goth, but damn, it's good.
While I'm on a non-goth streak I'll just add This Celluloid Dream by A.F.I, because it's one of those ones where you just think, "aw.. I wish someone wrote this song to me" it's that beautiful.

A Slight Case of Overbombing by the Sisters of Mercy

I had downloaded the album on my old laptop, and had a back up disc that i listened to in the car
that thing got scratched to ribbons, and before I made another backup disc, my hard drive crashed and I couldn't transfer any of my music (but it just so happens that was the only music I lost then )

So I got a factory wrapped CD from Amazon
